Marilynn Elizabeth McIntosh of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with the Lord at the age of 80 on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She was born October 14, 1943 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Curtis and Mary Rose Posey.
Marilynn, (known as Betty to all who love her), grew up a preacher's daughter and went wherever her father's ministry took her. She was an active participant in church meetings and all that entailed. Betty began the next phase of her life, marrying Bill and building their home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. That part of the life journey took a major turn as Bill joined the Air Force. Betty enthusiastically and lovingly travelled to wherever military life took them - starting in Colorado Springs with detours to Guam, Europe, San Antonio, and eventually bringing them to Barksdale where Bill retired after thirty years active duty. All along the way, Betty was a life force as she supported her husband and kept down the fort as they both grew a beautiful marriage and loving home to raise their daughters in.
Betty was a kind and special lady who loved the church. Her love of children was well known as she started teaching youth classes in her early teens. They loved her back for the impact she had on their lives. She had that special way of reaching out and touching everyone around her. Good deeds, loving people, and looking for the good in others was Betty's way of thinking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Wilson Posey, Sr. and Mary Rose Posey; brother, William Edmund Posey.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, William Bert McIntosh, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughters, Stephanie Ann Bernstein of Midlothian, Virginia and Lori Schuster (Troy) of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Colton Bernstein of Monroe Louisiana, Claire Bernstein of Metairie, Louisiana, Cameron Bernstein of Denton, Texas, Katelyn Haley (Logan) of Trenton, Texas, Preston Schuster and Caroline Schuster of Lufkin, Texas; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Harrison Haley; brother, Curtis Wilson Posey, Jr. (Hilda); sister-in-law, Debby Posey, two nephews and their families.
