Marjorie Maureen Ford was born on June 3, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Rev. Curtis F. Roberson Sr., and Robbie O Roberson. She graduated in 1956 from Booker T. Washington High School of Shreveport, Louisiana. From an early age up to adulthood Marjorie worked in retail for Rubenstein's, Globe and Woolco, working her way up to management. In 1980 she completed vehicle assembly training at Shreveport-Bossier Vocational Technical Institute. Following her certification, she began a career at General Motors as an assembly line worker. Marjorie retired with ten years of dedication and exceptional work ethic.
Marjorie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was baptized in the Baptist Church, when she was a young girl by her father, Rev. Curtis Roberson Sr. Marjorie loved the Lord our God. She always knew that God was keeping her.
Marjorie went to her Heavenly home on Friday, November 29, 2024 surrounded by her family at the age of 86. She is now reunited with her parents, a brother, three sisters, three brothers-in-law, a nephew, a niece, a grandson and a great nephew.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tracy R. Ford, Vivian R. Carter, Toni L. Ford, Alan C. Ford and Sabrina Gray; siblings, Leroy Roberson, Sr., Sampson Roberson, Sr., Charles L. Roberson, Almon Roberson and David L. Roberson; along with 18 nephews, 9 nieces and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation for Marjorie will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dr. Robert Hudson of Paradise Baptist Church with a prayer and scripture reading from Gerald Scott.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy C. Ford, Jeremy D. Ford, Alan Ford, Jaron Gray, Antonio Ford and Cyril Roberson with honorary pallbearers, Tracy R. Ford, Virgil Roberson, David Roberson, Ronnie Roberson, Rodney Carter, Derek Roberson, Alan Craig Bryant, Tre Ford, Cordero Swinney, Romela Ford, and Joshua Atkins.
