

SHREVEPORT, LA- Mrs Mary Ann Hoob Carmer was taken to Heaven on Sunday, July 20, 2014, after a sudden and rapidly fatal illness. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Centuries Funeral Home on Mansfield Rd. Funeral Services will begin at 11am, on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Centuries Funeral Home with Bro. Howard Hall, pastor at Shreveport Baptist Temple, and Bro. Keith Payne, of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
Mrs. Carmer was born in Mesa, Arizona, however, moved to the Shreveport area as a young child, with her parents and sister. She was active in church all of her life, a born again Christian, loved to sing at church, serve, and tell people about Jesus. Most recently she was a member of Bethany Baptist Church for several years. She recently retired, after 25 years of service with the Caddo Parish Assessors Office as a Deputy Tax Assessor. She loved being outdoors, flowers, music, and electronics. Mary loved spending time with her grandchildren, however most of all, serving her Lord Jesus Christ. Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife.
Mary is preceded in death by her father Henry Hoob. She is survived by her mother Christine Hoob, her sister Carrie Franks, her daughter Sandra McClure and husband Charles, her son Stephen Kay and wife Sarah, and her husband of 25 years Jerry Carmer, 6 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Connor, Landon, Kirsten, Collin, Kylie, one niece Paula Pruett, and one nephew Chris Franks, and three step-daughters, Susie, Kay, and Cindy.
Pallbearers will be Chris Franks, Larry Arnold, Richard Moore, Larry Burns, Charles McClure, and Randy Passanti.
The family requests memorials be made to Bethany Baptist Church, in Bethany, Louisiana.
The family would like to express thanks for all the prayers and support from friends and family, Shreveport Baptist Temple, Bethany Baptist Church, Promise Hospital, Grace Home, and Dr. Andrew Utter, Dr Jon Davis, Dr Stephen Maxwell, Dr Joseph Jones, and all the other excellent physicians and medical staff involved, providing excellent care to our mother during this difficult time.
