

Celebration of Life services for Mary Ellen Hancox Ellis will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2010 in Centuries Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Osborne officiating of The First Baptist Church of Ringgold, Louisiana. Interment will follow immediately in the Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, Louisiana. The family will be receiving guests for visitation from the hours of 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Centuries.
Mary Ellen Hancox Ellis passed away peacefully at home on December 13, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was eighty years old. She was born on November 29, 1930 in Lake Providence, LA to Lee Clayton and Syble Pate Hancox.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter; Kristin Michelle Caldwell.
She is survived by her four children, Suzanne Ellis Knighten and her husband, William Knighten, of Benton, LA, Celeste Ellis Bolton and her husband, Bernard Bolton, Jr, of Shreveport, LA, Thomas Ernest Ellis, Jr. of Lafayette, LA, and, Lee Ann Ellis Oskoian of West Monroe, LA. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild along with a large host of loving cousins and friends.
Special appreciation goes to her physicians, Dr. Ross Hamic, Dr. Robert Martin, Dr. David Green, Dr. Richard Zweig, and Dr. Dale Dockendorf for their excellent clinical care, and to Renee' Prudhome and the staff at Montclair Assisted Living for their love and tireless devotion. To Amy Dowe, RN and the staff of Circle of Life Hospice for the compassionate care during her last weeks. And last, but not least, Brother Ronnie Osborne and the entire congregation of First Baptist Church of Ringgold, LA for the countless prayers and loving concern.
Pallbearers will be her son-in-laws, William Knighten and Bernard Bolton and her grandsons, Ben Moss, Justin Moss, Trey Bolton, and John Bolton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, the American Parkinson's Association, and the First Baptist Church of Ringgold, LA., or the charity of one's choice.
