Mike found his identity in his family and friends and dedicated his life to supporting and loving them. If you knew Mike, you knew his love was unconditional. Mike would do anything, for anyone, no questions asked. He always provided a listening ear free of judgment and if you ever needed a big bear hug, you could trust he was there to provide it.
Mike was a kind, loving, loyal, and Godly man. He was patient and charming and had a way of making you smile under every circumstance. He lived his life with no regret.
Mike loved all sports, and “Hail to the Redskins!” would be a common greeting during the football season. The weekends were often filled with family movie nights, impromptu history lessons, and lots of snuggles with grandkids.
Mike was an incredible salesman for over 40 years. He loved meeting new people and building relationships with his customers. He was a very hard worker, but his main priority was trying to make his customers and co-workers laugh.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Claire Poovey. He is survived by the love of his life- Lee Ann Poovey, children- Caley Poovey, Holly Hightower (Jonathon), Rosie Poovey, father- Franklin Poovey, brothers- Donald Poovey, and Allen Poovey (Dee Dee), sisters- Cindy Axmacher (Barry), Susan Teel (Ted), and Cheryl Poovey, grandchildren- Claudia Wilkerson, Sydnee Wilkerson, Roslyn McInnis, Samson Jones, Millie Hightower, Marcie Hightower, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their spouses!
