Mrs. Mildred Hughes Olden

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Mildred Hughes Olden, 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Igo. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, LA at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Centuries.

Mildred was born on April 23, 1920 in Orange County, TX and passed away on November 19, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. She lived in Jena, LA until 2001 when she moved to Shreveport to be closer to her family. Mrs. Olden was a devout christian and a dedicated and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked as a seamstress for many years before becoming a bookkeeper for McCartney Oil. Mrs. Olden enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Olden was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Olden; one son, Reggie Olden; her parents, Silas and Irene Hughes and one sister, Mary Taylor.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Mildred is her son, David Olden and wife Barbara; sisters, June Applewhite and Dot Howard; one brother, Charles Hughes; grandchildren, Michael Olden, Casey Olden and Lori Meadows; 5 great grandchildren; one great great grandson, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
