Bo worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Vacations consisted of Bo and Debbie riding in the 18 wheeler and traveling through many states. After retiring in 2008, Bo and Debbie traveled to many more places, especially their favorites, Branson, MO. and Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN.
Bo was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and he was in the Collins Sunday School Class. He loved passing out candy to all the children and the ladies at the church. He was called "The Candy Man."
Bo was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Shackelford; brothers, Charles "Jargo" Shackelford and James "Red" Shackelford.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debbie Speed Shackelford; son, Lindsey Allen Shackelford; daughter, Sandy Shackelford Etheredge and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Brandon Etheredge (Krissy) and Brittany Etheredge; great-grandchildren, Kolton, Jeremy and Evie Rae Etheredge; brother, Joe Shackelford and wife, Sandy; sisters, June Finklea and husband, Johnny and Patsy Proctor and husband John; and a young lady who came into our lives about five years ago, Dawn LaGeose her husband Josh and her children, Adam, Paisley, JJ and Ellie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Bo will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 from 10:00 AM with the Celebration of life following at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5850 Buncombe Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71129. Interment will be held at Centuries Memorial Park. Dr. Chad Hardbarger, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church will be officiating and Rev. Austin Bedwell will be assisting. Honoring Bo as pallbearers will be Eric Brumley, Ronald Causey, Gene Taylor, Randy Priest, Chris Smith and Jordan Hardbarger.

The family wishes to thank Lifepath Hospice, especially, Bo's hospice nurse, Julie for her sweet loving care the last seven weeks and Jerri, Bo's on-call weekend nurse who was so sweet and caring to him in his final few days.
