Patricia Longoria Tuminello Hervey of Stonewall, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 84. She was born September 29, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Nadine Cobb and Herbert Wilton Longoria.
Over the years, Patricia held many jobs. She worked at the U.S. Attorney's office as a legal secretary, Office of Hearing and Appeals, Arkla Exploration Corporation, V.A. Medical Center and Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation. She competed and won two drag-racing trophies during her life. She was also very involved in the Shreveport Bird Study Group, where she met her husband of 27 years, Hubert. Patricia would help work on and send out monthly newsletters for the group.
Patricia was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a dynamic passionate personality full of wisdom, loyalty, integrity and prudence. She had a heart of gold, with a fierce, protective love for her family, especially her four children and grandchildren. Patricia had a quick-witted sense of humor, and was the one you could always count on to be there for you in any circumstance. She had a keen sense of judgment, could solve whodunit mysteries, and had an impressive ability to complete any Cryptoquote puzzle put in front of her. Each time someone entered her home, she greeted them with a big smile and those bright blue beautiful eyes.
She had an abundance of interests during her life. She loved all aspects of photography, including developing, processing and touch-up work. She liked gardening, reading, crocheting, cooking and crafts. She had a fondness of beautiful music, especially Elvis Presley, Andre’ Rieu’s orchestral works, working on crossword puzzles, playing board games, going on picnics, stargazing and moonglow. Patricia also once gave a perfect performance in a tap dance recital on stage with her daughter Sherry to the tune of “New York, New York”.
Patricia had an intense love of animals and nature, especially her Chickadees. Her beloved angel dog, Bailey was always at her side, following her everywhere and filling in all her blanks. She enjoyed birdwatching outings and traveling as well. Her favorite trip was to California, where she and Hubert attended an episode of the Tonight Show, starring her favorite TV host, Jay Leno.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Hubert Hervey; daughter Sherry Tuminello Susilovich and husband Bruce; sons, Michael Tuminello and wife Renee, Chris Tuminello and wife Sandra, and Perry Tuminello and wife Missy; sisters, Billie Raybourn and husband Russell, Diana Monaghan of New Zealand; brothers, Russell Fory and wife Sirlina and Lane Longoria and wife Charlotte; sister-in-law, Charlotte Lester Longoria; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great grandson, Eli Tucker and her beloved angel dog, Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Longoria; beloved grandparents Thomas and Mattie Cobb, and baby Philip Arden Tuminello (purposely named with the initials that spelled her name).
A visitation for Patricia will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in Powell Cemetery, Missile Base Road, Stonewall, LA.
