Patricia Sanders Link was born on February 25, 1940, in Magnolia, Arkansas to the late Curtis Sanders and Eloise Clinton Sanders. She was a longtime resident of Shreveport, Louisiana. She passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026 in Bossier City, Louisiana at the age of 86.
Patricia, known as Mamaw to her family and loved ones, lived a life marked by devotion and steady faith, offering kindness to others. She was cherished by those who knew her, and her presence carried a wisdom that helped others feel grounded, understood, and cared for.
For 25 years, Mamaw served as a nurse, bringing compassion and skill to a profession built on service. Her work reflected the same generous spirit that shaped her life beyond her career—one defined by attentiveness to others and a sincere desire to help.
On April 2, 1960, she married the love of her life, beginning a partnership that would span 60 years. Their story started early—they met when she was 12—and grew into a lasting bond rooted in loyalty, shared history, and abiding commitment.
Family was everything to Mamaw. She loved family get-togethers and especially treasured celebrating Christmas. She delighted in seasonal and holiday decorating, creating warmth and beauty in the spaces where her loved ones gathered. A great cook, she expressed care through meals and traditions, and she felt deeply blessed to have her family close. She would do anything for them, and that steadfast love will remain one of her most enduring gifts.
Mamaw was also known for speaking her mind—honestly and plainly—an expression of the clarity and conviction that guided her throughout life. She will be remembered with gratitude and respect, as a beloved and faithful woman whose devotion to family and service left a lasting imprint.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oral Link; great granddaughter, Dakota Becker; brother, Thomas "Bo" Sanders; and brother-in-law, Tommy Carpenter.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debby Birky (Sammy Mijalis), Greg Link, and Kristy Link Davenport (Bobby); grandchildren, Courtney Link Smith (Justin), Tyler Link (Sarah), Kara Brehmer, Hunter Birky (Courtney), Kelly Becker (Michael), Cason Link, Cannon Link, Ryleigh Link, and Jace Link; great-grandchildren, Ava Smith, Emma Smith, Madison-Claire Smith, Noah Smith, and Hadley Naderi, Blake Becker, Luke Birky, Caleb Link, Boston Becker, Kendall Link and Benson Becker; sisters-in-law, Peggy Carpenter and Vicky Ross (Cleatus), Jean Sanders; special cousin, Margaret Sartin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
