Patricia Gayle Spigener, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend went to be her Lord and Savior on November 6, 2025. Patricia was born in Fouke, Arkansas on September 2, 1938, to Horace and Lela Coker Jones.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gordon, her son Roderick “Roddy,” and sisters, Ila and Martha. She is survived by her daughter, Cara Ebey and husband, Fred; grandchildren, Aaron Holloway and wife, Lauren, Abigayle Holloway and Jesse Hall, and Allyson Holloway; nieces Cindy Elliot and husband, Jim, Denise Cunov and husband, Kyle, and Debbie Thompson. She was also very eager to welcome her first great grandchild in March of 2026.
Patricia attended grade schools in Fouke, AR and Blanchard, LA and graduated from Fair Park High School. She attended Northwestern State University and graduated in 1960 with a degree in education. She began teaching home economics and enjoyed honing her skill of sewing, needlepointing, and various other crafts.
Pat grew up in a loving home, learning about Jesus from a young age. She was wed to her husband, Gordon, when she was 19 years old on June 21, 1957. After they were married, they moved to Oklahoma City for a brief time before moving back to Shreveport in 1966. Their family continued to grow when they adopted their son, Roddy, in 1969. Their daughter, Cara, was also adopted 3 years later.
Patricia acquired her real estate license in 1970 and worked alongside her husband at Spigener Real Estate, which eventually became Century21 Spigener. They worked together, as successful business owners, for forty years and had many committed agents, who became family.
Patricia and Gordon were faithful members of Summer Grove Baptist Church from 1966 and loved to spend as much time as they could with their friends and community. Patricia was a member of the Friendship Sunday school class. From 1995-2002, Patricia served as a city councilwoman, representing the Southern Hills district that she lived in and adored. She also volunteered with the Southern Hills Business Association.
Patricia and Gordon also enjoyed traveling the world together with their dear friends and family. The memories they made are priceless and serve as a great source of joy for those they leave behind. They talked often of trips to Greece, Alaska, and Hawaii. They especially loved their yearly trips to Branson, MO.
Her love for Jesus was evident in all that Patricia did and said. She was poised, patient, and soft-spoken. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and never hesitated to remind them of that. Patricia was kind, giving, and a beautiful reflection of the life Jesus calls us to live. The life they lived together is a testimony to the faithfulness of God. Even in times of hardship and difficulty, Patricia remained steadfast and unwavering in her belief and faith in God. The last 7 months of her life, after Gordon passed away, were undoubtedly the most difficult she endured, but she did so looking to a hope beyond this world. We find peace knowing she has been made whole, with no more pain or sorrow, and rests secure in the arms of her Savior.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Summer Grove Baptist Church, 8924 Jewella Ave, Shreveport, LA 71118, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of plants, the family ask that contributions be made to St. Jude, Ronald McDonald House or charity of choice.
