Patrick was born on January 26, 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James "Jack" Russell and Rosemary Kippenbrock Monarch. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael William Monarch.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 26 years, Allison Loyd Monarch; son Jacob Monarch of Shreveport; daughters Madeline Monarch, Abigail Monarch, Caroline Monarch also of Shreveport; three brothers, James Monarch Jr. and wife, Sharon of Fort Worth, TX, Roy Monarch and wife, Nancy of Alexander, NC, Thomas Monarch and wife, Jill of Orlando; sister in law Deborah Monarch and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Patrick was one of the most recognizable people in Shreveport measuring a lean 6ft 8in and was known as “Big Daddy” to all of his friends. If Patrick had the opportunity to organize his own funeral, there is no doubt that a mandatory dress code of striped or plaid Ralph Lauren Polo shirts would be in place. With that in mind he would insist his eulogy be replaced with an endless game of presidential trivia, and donations collected would be in honor of the sports team of his choosing. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting in his chair catching up on the phone for hours with old friends. While Patrick may not have been a master of etiquette, he was as sharp as they came at being a father, friend, and smack talker. He was very generous and would give you his last quarter if you needed it. The trash collectors of Shreveport will be very upset when he’s not in the driveway on trash day in his pajamas with a $20 bill in hand to give them.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Ochsner LSU Health. In addition we are so thankful for the overwhelming support of family, friends, and community.
