Raines Allen Connell

Mr. Connell was a Retired Ins. Sales Agent for Aflac were he was awarded for outstanding Sales for Aflac in NW LA. He was a welding instructor at NWLA Welding School. He was the Owner/Contractor for his own business, SBC Rental Repair and he was a former Sunday School Teacher at his Church, North Shreve Baptist Church.

He was an encourager and a delight to be around. He had many loves, especially his kids and family. He enjoyed Squirrel hunting with his lifelong best friend, his dad, son, father-in-law and son-in-law, going to antique stores, reading, camping, and cooking. But most of all he loved his church and teaching Sunday school and being a part of the many ministries at the church. He loved building things and making knives from deer horns.

Mr. Raines is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Raines Bledsoe, Mr. and Mrs. Burt Allen Connell; his parents, David Sr. and Wilma Connell; brothers, David Clinton Connell, Jr.; step-sister, Jillinda Gambrel; his great-grandson, William Chasetyn Peters; and grandson Tyler Matthew Bynog.

He is survived by five children, Candace C. Kelly and husband Scott, Jeffery P. Connell and wife Terri, Catherine C. Fitzpatrick, Rebecca C. Stevens and husband Ronnie, and Sammie Connell Bynog and husband Randy; one sister, Kisiah Marie Connell; two step-sisters, Linda Vickers and husband Rob and Sandy Roach; one step-brother, Matthew Gambrel and wife Janette; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law, Patty Page Harrison and husband David; and his lifelong best friend, Gary Garner.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Raines Allen Connell will be held Saturday, January, 30, 2021, 11:00 AM at North Shreve Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA.

Donation may be made in his name to Gideon’s Bibles, Shriners Children’s Hospitals, or his church, North Shreve Baptist Church.
