Ray proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp, where he earned the rank of Corporal. He met the love of his life, Meryl, while pipeline testing in South Africa. He loved cheering on the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints and especially, Joe Burrow! Ray cherished his Sunday evening dinners with family, being outside playing games with the children, and loved traveling with his wife. His dogs also brought him much joy!
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Meryl Grimsinger; sister, Josephine Thomas; children, Karen Webster (Barry), Ray Grimsinger III (Steve), Kendra Crager (Michael); grandchildren, Ashley Pitre (Seth), Amanda Bissell (Jeremy), Allie Shaver (Matt), Mackenzie Crager, Beau Crager and Haley Crager; great grandchildren, Samantha, Lakelynn, Vivianne, Lucy and Jameson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kellie Grimsinger; parents, and brothers, Robert and Bill Grimsinger.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Monday, July 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Being that Ray was such an avid LSU and Saints fan, we would love for you to wear your LSU or Saints gear in his honor to the visitation.
A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71108-5813. Officiating the service will be Brother Wayne Fussell. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Barry Webster, Michael Crager, Beau Crager, Jeremy Bissell, Seth Pitre and Matt Shaver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Shreveport Affiliate at Ochsner LSU.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Brother Wayne Fussell, Caddo Fire District #3, and the staff of nurses and doctors at Willis-Knighton South, who cared for Ray.
