Rebecca Kay Valentine Compton, of Bossier City, Louisiana entered her heavenly home on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of 72 surrounded by her family. She is now rejoicing and celebrating with those
who have preceded her in death, Douglas King and Willodean Jackson Valentine King, Ralph Valentine, Michael Valentine, Cherry Valentine and Sonny King.
Rebecca was born in Orange, Texas on July 1, 1949 to Ralph and Willodean Valentine. She worked for many years as a hairdresser working from her home. She also worked for numerous years as a special needs aide for the Caddo Parish School system. She loved playing bingo, gardening, and camping in Arkansas. She enjoyed spending days at the beach. Most of all, Rebecca loved spending time with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Jerry Compton; sister, Penny LaRoux (Robby); daughters, Stacy Compton Brown, Tracy Compton Baudoin (Tom) and Baily Compton; grandchildren, Kobie Ward and Dylan Baudoin and five great grandchildren.
A visitation for Rebecca will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a celebration of her life at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Pastor Gene Nix. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Rodney Ward, Dylan Baudoin, Ben Wise and Adam LaRoux.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
