

.Shreveport, LA- Graveside services celebrating the life of Robert Lee Bryson, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Brother Doug Lovett.
Robert Lee Bryson was born on March 27, 1924, in Martin, TX, and passed away surrounded by family on February 21, 2017. Bob was the son of Robert Bryson and Nancy Books Bryson, and grew up in Deport, TX. He was serving in the U.S. Army at Pearl Harbor during the surprise attack by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and later from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Waskom, TX.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Books Lawrence Bryson and his son, Ronald Lee Bryson.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Geraldine; son, Robert Shuman Bryson and wife Kelly of Shreveport. He is “Papa” to his beloved grandchildren, Bonnie Bryson Steele and husband Clint, Christine Bryson Tharpe and husband George, Robert Theodore (Ted) Bryson and wife Nicole, and great-grandchildren, Camille Claudia Tharpe, Katherine Elizabeth Tharpe, Barrett Murphy Bryson, and Berkley Marie Bryson.
Honoring Mr. Bryson as pallbearers will be: Jay Simmons, Tom Yohn, Bill Atkins, Dale Robin, Clint Steele and Dustin Martin.
The family suggests memorials be made to Faith Independent Baptist Church, 465 Eberle St., Waskom, TX, 75692.
