Robert Justin Durante Sr (Bob) passed away on March 28, 2022 in the loving arms of his family at the age of 81 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Bob was born on November 30, 1940 to Irene and Sylvio Durante in Chicago, Illinois. Bob was a lifelong entrepreneur and had a passion for helping people. Starting with opening a service station at a young age, then a wrecker service, and eventually moving to Louisiana where he ran the Cove Lounge in Shreveport. Bob took pride in providing for his family. He spent many years at his RV dealership, Campers RV Center and many late nights at rodeos with his youngest daughter, Alisa. Even after retirement, his drive to help people never slowed, he worked side jobs, repaired tractors and other equipment. He always found something to keep him busy. Bob had a quiet personality, but those who really knew him, knew him as the definition of “love”. He showed love in his actions. He was the one you’d call when you needed someone. Whether you needed advice or help changing a tire, he was known for his ability to fix anything. Bob touched so many lives.
Left behind to cherish immeasurable memories are his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His son, Robert Durante Jr and his wife, Stacey Durante of Shreveport; Daughters, Cherie Ann Rambo, her husband, Roy Rambo of Colorado Springs and Alisa Durante Schutza and her husband, Michael Schutza of Bossier City; Grandchildren, Dakotah, Heather, Kristen, and Peyton; Great-grandchildren, Hayleigh and Charlotte and numerous other family members and friends.
On Friday, April 01, 2022 the family will have a Celebration of Life service. The viewing will begin at 11:00AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home and Park (8801 Mansfield Rd in Shreveport) followed immediately by the service at 1:00PM. Officiating will be Monsignor Earl Provenza followed by the eulogy by Michael Schutza. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery (at 3700 St. Vincent Avenue in Shreveport).
