I'm so sorry to learn of Mr. Taliaferro's passing.  I know you both have the hope in knowing that he's in heaven w/all of his loved ones, & that soon you & your whole family will join him w/great joy!  I was blessed to be in Rea's Sunday School Class w/you, and you know that you & your family are in my thoughts & prayers.  God bless you all!

To all the Taliaferro family I wish you to know my heart has a void in it since the passing of Monroe. When I lost my own dad in 1980, Mr T, as I called him, filled in as a fatherly figure that I so needed as I went through life. The many times we spent fishing, hunting, vacationing, and family gatherings, I will cherish until my days here are done. I couldn't have asked for a better father-in-law. I will miss him dearly.

My heartfelt condolences to the Taliaferro family, especially Mary Ann, Cathy, Karen, Julie, Allison, Catherine and Kristin. It was a special privilege for me to have participated in the family's holiday rituals for 7 years, for which I have many fond memories. May God comfort you all in this time of sadness.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another. 

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Robert Monroe Taliaferro, Jr. our “Brother-in-Arms”.   To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Robert.   And to Robert it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Army.  Robert, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction.  You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country.  We bid you a sad farewell.  You will be dearly missed from among our ranks.  Be at Ease.  Rest in Peace.
