Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Bossier City. He owned and operated his lawn service for over 50 years. Along the way he acquired numerous friends from all walks of life. He never met a stranger and was beloved by all. In addition to his lawn service he was a collector of bicycles owning hundreds over the years which he repaired and gave to children and adults to better their lives. His bicycle shop was open to all (no charge) for repair!
He could be seen in his younger years riding his vintage bicycle all over Bossier and points beyond, including Benton, Shady Grove, Haughton and many places we probably didn’t know about.
Ronnie was gifted in many ways. His abilities to recall names of songs, year recorded, artist and where he was when he heard it the first time was uncanny and entertaining. He was an avid collector of music, radios, and action figures. He also could recall birthdays, ages of friends, anniversaries and knew every car you ever owned.
Ronnie lived life to its fullest and brought joy into the lives of everyone he knew. He will be remembered for his sense of humor in good times and bad. Ronnie was accepting of everyone, especially those in need and less fortunate.
After a very short fight with an aggressive cancer he was called to heaven to rejoice with others who went before; his parents, Vince and Dorothy Montalbano, brothers, Jack and Bobby Montalbano, grandparents, Jake and Vita Montalbano and Murdick and Ida Barr and very special friend, Alma Wager Burge.
He leaves behind his dear sister, Sherry Cobbs (Charles) of Shreveport, who provided Ronnie’s care since the passing of his mother and up to his passing. He was able to live independently with their help and devotion. He’s also survived by his sister, Jean Manceaux (Darrell) of Houston, Texas. Surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and numerous friends. Also surviving are Aunts Rose Mary Finley and Joan Montalbano and Sister-in-law, Valerie Montalbano.
We would like to thank the caring staff at Willis Knighton North, Dr. Nicole McCommon and nurse, Summer Porter of North Caddo Medical Center, Benton. Special friend, Diane Williams and husband Frankie of Haughton and his devoted and caring cousin, Mary Lowery Morgan, who delivered food on Sundays for years.
Visitation will take place Monday, September 15, 2025 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with a graveside service following in Centuries Memorial Park.
