Shreveport, LA Ruth McKelvey, 89, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2016 after a long illness at Heritage Manor Stratmore. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She served her church in many ways, especially as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was a loving mother and a great friend to all who knew her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James K. McKelvey, Jr. and a son, James K. McKelvey, III. She is survived by her son, Sean Anthony McKelvey; grandson, Sean Anthony John McKelvey; great grandson, Aaron Thomas McKelvey; nieces and nephews; and friends.
A service celebrating the life of Mrs. McKelvey will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016, 1:30 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 until service time.
