Tomy and her husband, Lonnie were always together. They both were very involved in their community, serving in the Caddo Sheriff’s Auxiliary Unit together. She had more than 300 hours of dedicated service to the unit. During her time with the Caddo Sheriff Department she completed the community emergency response team training, Louisiana child passenger safety awareness course and deputy course. She was involved with NCHA (log jammer), the Rose Chapel Auxiliary unit and a member of AARP. Tomy was also heavily involved in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.
The greatest joy in her life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cake decorating, doing macramé projects and crocheting. She liked traveling, camping, days at the beach, riding motorcycles and horses, and most of all spending time with her family. She and her husband were avid bluegrass fans. Tomy never met a stranger, and loved visiting with anyone. She had a big heart and loved to give back as much as she could. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her best and loved her most.
Tomy was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Thacker Sr.; son, Loren Ray Thacker and her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Loretta Rodriguez and husband Oscar; sons, Lonnie Thacker Jr. and Theodore Gentry; grandchildren, Chelsea Lafitte and husband Mike, Jessica Gowan and husband George, Jenelle Cleveland, Tyler, Oscar, and Valeria Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Gauge and Emalee Davis; sister-in-law, Sue Saachoff and brother-in-law, Larry Thacker.
