Funeral services for Tracy Lamar Lyle will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana . Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville.
Tracy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 31, 1959 and spent most of his life in that area until his passing on Sunday, January 27, 2019. He graduated from Southwood High School before having a career in the United States Military.
SGT (R) Tracy Lyle served his country honorably in the United States Army and the Louisiana Army National Guard. He retired from the Louisiana Army National Guard with 38 years of service on 30 July 2018. During this period he served with HHC 1-156th Armor and Troop Charlie, 2nd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, and included the completion of a multitude of humanitarian and natural disaster missions and invaluable service in combat operations in support of three campaign phases of Operation Iraqi Freedom: Iraqi Governance, Iraqi Sovereignty, and New Dawn. He served as a personnel administration specialist and communications equipment repairer, and earned the following awards: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3), Army Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal with bronze star for South Louisiana Hurricane (1993) and Hurricane Gustav and Ike (2008), Overseas Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device and Silver Hourglass, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Iraqi Campaign Medal with 3 stars, Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon for participating in Orient Shield 2009 at Camp Ohyanohara, Japan in 2009, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the NCO Professional Development Medal.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Lyle, and is survived by his mother, Charlotte Lyle, brothers Ronald and wife Alyssa, Paul and wife Andrea, Randal and wife Samantha, and Douglas and wife Jennifer, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
