Virginia "Ann" Sanders Hamm, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Sunday July 14, 2019 at the age of 77 at home, surrounded by family. She was born February 20, 1942 in Winnfield, Louisiana to Fount Sanders and Jewel Martin Sanders.
Ann was a beloved Mother and Grandmother, who loved her family more than anything. She devoted her life to raising her children and being a loving wife to Larry Gene Hamm, Sr., her husband of 58 years. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sometimes even spending five years on a project. She liked spending time in her garden, planting vibrant colored flowers, mostly. She also loved visiting with her lifelong friends. Ann will truly be missed by all her knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Randy Hamm and wife Kim, Jason Hamm and wife Lisa, Lorie Garza and husband Larry, Cheryl Stephenson and husband Robert, and Heather McCoy and husband Damarkus; daughter-in-law, Pamela Hamm; 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; son, Larry Gene Hamm Jr.; and her parents.
The family will receive guests for a visitation on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. A celebration of Life for Ann will occur Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with an interment to follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Bro. John Harp. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Joey Garza, Jamie Garza, Billy Garza, Robert Stephenson, Joshua Stephenson, Christopher Hamm, Caleb Hamm and Damarkus McCoy Jr..
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. John Harris, Dr. Anil Chhabra, Dr. Paul Schuler, Willis Knighton Pierremont Staff and Regional Hospice for the care they showed Mrs. Hamm and the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
