

Virginia was a resident of Shreveport, LA for most of her adult life and was an employee of Walgreens for over 25 years. She was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle where she was very active in the Ladies Ministry and in the Ladies Fund Raising Dept. where she was known for her homemade pies. She was known as “Mama Ginger” to almost everyone because she was a very loving, caring and compassionate lady to all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Alice (Shelton) Young, Noal (Joni) Davis, Linda (Jerry) Frizzell and Bill (Paula) Sumner, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Harrell, Kenneth (Linda) Wilkerson and four sisters, Quenten Pugh, Ella (Bill) Warrington, Donnie Clark and Neal (Bud) Wade and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Centuries Memorial on Mansfield Rd. Shreveport, LA at noon. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Dr. Shelton Young, her son-in-law and grandson, Rev. Wayne Davis will officiate her service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
