Funeral service honoring the life of Virginia McDurmond Talley will be held at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. with the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Bro. Joe Huffman.
Virginia McDurmond Talley was born July 25, 1933 in Ida, Louisiana to Edward and Ruby McDurmond and passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Virginia was a very special lady! She loved spending time outside on her riding lawn mower, keeping the hummingbirds and deer fed, pie making, fishing, trying out new recipes, and lunch dates with her daughters. Any time spent with family and friends was her favorite time! She loved her family, BIG!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 55 years, John L. Talley; sister, Bertha McDurmond; brothers, Archie McDurmond, C.H. McDurmond, Jake McDurmond and Kenneth McDurmond.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rita Mitchell, Brenda Smith and husband Mark, Sheila Kennedy and husband Terry; son, David Mitchell and Rose; also very close to her heart, Sharon Howell and husband Bobby, John W. Talley and wife Ginger; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Josh Smith and wife Rachael, Miranda Mitchell, David Michael Mitchell, Justin Kennedy and wife Savannah, Jordan Kennedy and Reanna Crumpler; a very dear friend, Mary Nezat; her wonderful Southern Hills Church of Christ family; several great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Honoring our sweet mother, granny and friend as pallbearers are her grandsons, Michael, Josh, David Michael, Justin and Jordan.
