Wanda Lee Jackson, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the age of 68. She was born March 22, 1954 to Zona Davis and William Hale in Portsmouth, Ohio. She graduated from Lewis County High School in 1972. She served in the United States Navy from 1972 until 1974.
She had a love for people and a heartfelt compassion, even for those that she didn't know. Her generosity spread to anyone she could find who was in need. She made sure to leave her mark on each and every go fund me, school fundraiser, or donation she ever came across. She had a knack for giving- always finding the most unique, the gift you never knew you needed, but became to wonder how you ever lived without it. Always present in the moment; she never missed a birthday, anniversary, or a chance to spend time with her family. Her family prays that her heart inspires others to give to someone in need, just as she did daily.
In 2016 she received a gift, a miracle of life. And because of that donor, she was able to live six more heart fulfilling years. Six years spent travelling, celebrating, and living. In each season of life, her and her loving husband dedicated time to traveling as this was their most treasured time together. She was able to meet six grandchildren and four great grandchildren in that time.
Wanda's other hobbies included her love for Christ and her church. She has a passion for constantly learning about who Jesus is by many books and of course, her bible. And with the love and guidance of a special friend, she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior.
It gives us peace knowing that her heart is now made whole again by reuniting with her daughter Michelle and is healed from her earthly ailments. She is also reuniting with her parents and two brothers, Steve Hale and Larry Saunders.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Sandy Jackson; her daughter Brenda Kahaialii and husband, John; her daughter Melissa Dupont and husband, Bryan; her daughter Kim Handrop and husband, Corbett; and her son Logan Jackson and wife, Alyssa. Wanda also leaves thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren as well as numerous other family and friends.
A visitation for Wanda will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A celebration of life will occur Monday, August 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
