Mr. William Ray Carpenter

Shreveport, LA Funeral Services for William Ray Carpenter will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA 71108. Officiating will be Pastor Durell Tuberville. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2014 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

William was born January 4, 1939 to John and Essie Carpenter in Shreveport, LA and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on October 2, 2014.

For 56 years William was married to the love of his life, Laverne. He worked in the Air Conditioning and Heating Industry for 58 years and was an avid fisherman and a sports enthusiast. He loved spending time with family and friends. The joy and light of his life was his best buddy and great grandson Jacob Carpenter.

He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny Carpenter; his parents and his brothers John and James. He is survived by his loving wife, Laverne; his son William and wife Sandy; granddaughter Amanda Morgan and husband Chad; great grandson Jacob Ryan; daughter-in-law Diane; brothers, Thomas H. and wife Peggy and Wayne S. and wife Joyce; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Darren Carpenter, Donnie Carpenter, Stuart Waguespack, and Douglas Johnson.
