Wincie Taylor Worley, 93, passed away peacefully after living a full life with family and friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born on December 20, 1931, in Joaquin, Texas to John and Odell Taylor. Wincie graduated from Joaquin High School, Class of 1948. Wincie lived in the Shreveport area most all her life. She retired from Riley-Beaird, Inc. after 30 years of service. Wincie worked in the Personnel Department as an Insurance Specialist handling claims for all employees.
Wincie participated in many organizations throughout her lifetime. She was a long-time member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Sunday School and the Widows’ Group. Wincie in prior years was a member of the Eastern Star Greenwood Chapter. An organization close to her heart was the Veterans’ Purple Heart Organization where she spent endless time volunteering to support the local area Veterans. Wincie was known for her loving and compassionate heart and her kindness to others.
Wincie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Odell Taylor, husband, James H. Worley, Sr., and family members: Harold Taylor, Frances Ann Lawson, Brenda Worley Andrews, and James H. Worley, Jr.
Wincie is survived by those who loved her and will miss her kindness and sweet spirit. Left to cherish her memory is her family, Linda McNiel (Ron), Brad McCullough (Pat), Norman Worley (Sharon), Edith Stone, Blanche McMullen, Martha Smith, and Wilson Andrews. Wincie was blessed with thirteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Wincie will be held Monday, September 22, 2025 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a service and graveside at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Dr. Tom Harrison and Reverend Harold Hanson.
Pallbearers: Jake McCullough, Ryan McNiel, Lane McCullough, Steve Stone, Harold McMullen, Jason McMullen, Todd Blocker, and Gary Wagner.
Honorary Pallbearers: Beau Wagner, Chandler Newport, David Worley, Craig Worley, Dennis Johnson, Jerry Griffin, Garrett Johnson, and Skylar McCullough.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of Mom’s doctors, nurses, NPs, and staff for their special care through the years at The Health Center of Live Oak. We appreciate the devotion shown by the entire staff in North Pavilion Wing B and most recently East Wing. A special thank you to Ester McCauley for her exceptional care to Mom and to the family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, Broadmoor Baptist Church-Widows’ Group, Purple Heart-Shreveport, Keithville Baptist Church, St. Jude’s or to a charity of your choice.
