Winnie Ola Hunter of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the age of 94. She was born October 14, 1926 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to Samuel Cecil and Mary Alice Tabler. A visitation for Winnie will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 1050 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St Mary of the Pines. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Cemetery, Texarkana, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church or a charity of your choice. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John “Danny” Hunter and wife Lora Jean, James Hunter and Jeffrey Hunter and wife Debbie; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Musgrove. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Hunter Sr.; son, Doyal Hunter; six brothers and sisters; and her parents. Winnie had an extensive bottle and rock collection in her home. Family and friends would bring rocks from all over the World as souvenir for her. She enjoyed visiting flea markets and working in her yard and flowerbeds. She was a dedicated member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Cooking brought her great joy and she cooked at the church often. She loved her family and everyone else’s children as well. She truly was a loving caring women with a huge heart. Winnie loved telling everyone she met that she picked cotton when she was a young girl.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Winnie passing. She was a great Tabler historian. I could sit and listen for hours as she talked about the family life in the "Black Land", Sand Creek, Lockesburg, and Ben Lomond Arkansas. Loved her and love and prayers to my cousins.
