Mrs. Yvonne Hernandez Wright

Services celebrating the life of Yvonne Wright, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Bro. George Rogers of Koran Baptist Church, Haughton, LA, assisted by Bill Alger and David Jergins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wright was born on October 28, 1928 in Urania, LA. She and her husband Elvy B. Wright owned and operated Wright’s Corner Store in Haughton,LA. where they were active in the community. Yvonne was a member of Koran Baptist Church and enjoyed, cooking, baking and giving candy at Christmas. She was a caretaker, loved people and enjoyed making homemade bread for church visitors.

Preceding Yvonne in death were her parents; one sister, Evelyn Watts and a son-in-law, Millard Ray Johnson, Sr.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Yvonne are her husband Elvy B. Wright; children, Brenda Johnson; Steve Wright and wife Lynn; sisters, Juanita Wall, Linda Lou Jergins and husband Jerry, Irma Penick and husband Johnny, Ann Treadway and husband Billy; one brother, Mack W. Fife Jr. and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Cory, Krystle, Ray, Kim and Jodi; great grandchildren, Millard, Madison, Dustin, Peyton, Raven and Kristen.

Honoring Mrs. Wright as pallbearers will be her nephews: Buddy Wright, Mike Wright, Kip Wall, Billy Alger, Stacy Fife and David Jergins. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny R. Moore, George Perry Moore and Ray Johnson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the charity of the Donor’s choice.
