Zoie Hunt

SHREVEPORT, LA – Mrs. Zoie Hunt, age 92, died Monday, February 6, 2012, at The Guest Care at Spring Lake in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Hunt was born Zoie Hill on November 1, 1919, in Hughes Springs, Texas. She was a graduate of Waskom High School.

Zoie served as secretary at Claiborne Elementary School in the 1950’s. Later in life, she was quite successful selling World Book encyclopedias. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Samuel Moseley Hunt, and her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hill Smith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Kenneth and Reta Hunt of Shreveport; her granddaughter, Julie Hunt Havens and her husband William H. Havens of Wilmington, N.C. and her niece Ellen Smith Sullins of Colorado and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Guest Care at Spring Lake for their excellent care of Mrs. Hunt during her last months and also the staff of Agape Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Friday, February 10, 2012, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. M. Theresa McConnell and Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating.
