

GARDEN, Darryl Alfred – Enfield, passed away surrounded by his family, at the VG Hospital, Halifax on December 20, 2010, at 10:50am. Born in Halifax, September 9, 1947, Darryl was the eldest and much loved son of Marie (Benere) Garden, Enfield and the late Alfred Garden Jr. (predeceased October 2004). Also mourning his loss are his sons, Jesse, Halifax; Tyler (Deanne), Enfield; and the boys mother Carolyn; siblings Patti, Peter (Darlene), Guelph, ON.; Joan (Joe), Brampton, ON.; Joe (Darlene), Stewiacke; loving Papa to Colten; he will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Darryl was an avid sports fan and the creator of the “Busher and the Rinkrats” sports cartoon drawing on his own life at the rink, he provided a special insight into a child’s perspective of the game of hockey. Graduating from Georgetown High School in Massachusetts in 1965, where he played second base for the Georgetown Royals, he was particularly fond of his baseball years and visited the Boston Red Sox Training camp with his team. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm Wednesday December 22nd, 2010 all in the Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie (Exit 10), with Decon Bob Landry officiating. Burial will take place in Sandy Hill Cemetery Belnan. Special thanks to the nurses of the 8th Floor Oncology Unit. Donations in memory of Darryl may be made to KidSport Nova Scotia.
