Erma Beatrice White

WHITE, Erma B.,94 of Maitland, Hants Co., passed away peacefully at the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro on Saturday October 9th 2010. Born at Noel Road, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Caroline (Harvey) White. She was a member of the Maitland United Church and a member of the East Hants Historical Society, a past-president of the New Horizons Citizen’s Club, Noel for many years. She was recognized for her service to the NS Housing Commission, she was the president of the PC Women’s Association for 35 years and she was also a member of the Cobequid Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Maitland. Surviving are daughters Judy (Jim) Clooney, Maitland; Marge Ettinger, Truro; a son Glen, Sydney; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren; brother Ronald (Goldie), Noel Road; sister Gloria Jean (Kenneth) Coleman, VA. She was predeceased by husband Blois; daughter Yvonne and son Alton and a daughter in infancy, Madeline; brothers Ralph and Ben. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm today at the Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday at St. David’s United Church, Maitland, Rev. K. Wayne Yorke officiating.
