Herbert Russell MacPhee

MacPHEE Herbert “Herb” R. of North Salem / Shubenacadie passed away suddenly at the Colchester Regional Hospital on Friday January 7th, 2011. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Anthony) MacPhee. He was a life long resident of North Salem and a retired auto mechanic who was employed at Max William’s Irving in Shubenacadie for many years. He was a member of the Backyard Mechanic’s Club and enjoyed working with his sons and grandsons on various projects. If Herb could not fix it, it could not be fixed. He enjoyed his daily phone calls to friends and family, and his weekly visits to the Flea Market. Surviving besides his wife the former Gwen Miller are children Harlen (Sandra), Valerie (James) Russell, Darren (Lisa), Cindy (Steven) Schofield and Karen all of Shubenacadie, Grandchildren Christopher (Cindy) Russell, Nicole Russell, Brittney MacPhee, Luke and Josh Schofield and Rachel MacPhee; brother Burton (Carole) MacPhee, Shubenacadie; and sister Betty Lou (Malcolm) Ellis, of Stewiacke. Herb was predeceased by a brother Albro besides his parents. Visitation will take place 2-4, Monday, January 10th 2011 at the Ettinger Funeral Home Shubenacadie.
