Lorraine Winnifred Lindsay

LINDSAY, (VanHorne) Lorraine Winnifred, Stewiacke, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Harold VanHorne, Yarmouth, NS and the late Ruby (Bethune) Newell, NB. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family very much. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, knit, and do pickling which she loved to share with friends and neighbours, also loved to play games. She is survived by her loving husband William, sons Victor (Alice) Bain, Halifax; Ken (Joan) Bain, Yarmouth, NS ; Spencer (Sandra) Bain, Scarborough, Ont.; Kevin (Rose) Bain, Essex, Ont.; also daughter-in-law Candy Bain, Yarmouth, NS; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by son Harold “Bub” Bain, infant grandson Kenneth George Bain also 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She will be sadly missed and always loved by her husband, family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, August 31 at Country Calvary Baptist Church, 1722 Highway 2, Milford, Hants County, Gregor Nielsen officiating.
