

Anita Louise Gardner, age 104, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home in New Madrid, Missouri. She was born on February 1, 1920, in Okolona, Arkansas, to the late Fred and Maybell Harris. On December 31, 1939, in Portageville, Missouri, she married Jonathan Webster Gardner who preceded her in death on March 30, 1999.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Joanne Gardner and Betty Lou Eddy (David O Eddy) of New Madrid; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan (Renae) Eddy, Melissa (T. J.) Sides, Daniel (Elizabeth) Eddy of New Madrid; ten great-grandchildren, Austin Eddy, Lillian Eddy, Colton Eddy, Joseph (Ashlynn) Eddy, Anna Claire Sides, Marshall Sides, Adeline Eddy, John Davis Eddy, Hollis Eddy, and Collins Eddy; two great-great grandchildren, Beau and Jackie Eddy; and one niece and several nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Jane Gall, and one brother, Bob Harris. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the New Madrid OAKS Nutrition Center or the charity of your choice.
