Annabelle Griggs, age 79, of Charleston, MO. passed away on April 21, 2021 at her son’s home in Sikeston, MO. She was born October 10, 1941 in Deventer, MO. to the late Robert and Jewell Lindsey Nelson. On June 19, 1958 she married Sam Griggs who survives of Charleston, MO. She was employed by Wal-Mart in Charleston and Sikeston for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, MO. She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Griggs of East Prairie, MO.; two sons, Mike Griggs of Sikeston, MO. and Steven Griggs of Charleston, MO.; two brothers, Spencer (Deanna) Nelson of Ballwin, MO. and Larry Nelson of Tucson, AZ.; five grandchildren, Josh McMikle, Nelson McMikle, Julie Ann Stovall, Lee Griggs and Caitlyn Rohrer and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Nelson; one granddaughter, Lauren Griggs and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Rodney Dunlap, pastor of Abundant Life in Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, MO., officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith – Griggs Family Cemetery in Wyatt, MO. Pallbearers will be Josh McMikle, Nelson McMikle, Lee Griggs, Darrell Stovall, Dylan Locke and Craig Thurman.
