She was born on March 12, 1938, in Winner, South Dakota, to the late Doris and Luella (Chetlet) Turney.
On November 22, 1957, she married the love of her life, Earl Rice Wade, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Anne was a faithful member of the Blodgett Church of Christ and a devoted Christian whose faith guided her throughout her life. She taught Bible classes to generations of children and found great joy in sharing God’s word. Anne dedicated many years of service to her community as the longtime City Clerk of Blodgett. She also worked at Deason’s Store and the Blodgett Post Office, served as a notary public, and played an important role in the development and management of the city’s water system.
Known for her servant’s heart, Anne was beloved by all who knew her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and never hesitated to put the needs of others before her own. She found happiness in tending her garden, preparing meals for her family, canning vegetables, and serving her community. Above all, she cherished her role as “MawMaw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a title she wore with great pride and love.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Rice Wade; one brother, Bob Turney; two sisters, Alma Lundberg and Darles Boyce; and a great-granddaughter, Annalyn Wade.
She is survived by her three children, Timothy Earl (Becky) Wade of Blodgett, Mary Anne (Kenneth) Harbin of Paducah, and Aaron Rice (Kelly) Wade of Blodgett. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Taylor (Courtney) Harbin, Jordan (Holly) Harbin, Blake (Madalyn) Wade, Katherine Anne (Diego) Fraire, and Britton Wade (Laura Martinez); and two great-grandchildren, Luella Wade and Samuel Harbin.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Bonita, Candy, Regina, and Nykkoel, for the compassionate care and friendship they provided.
