Barbara Jeanette Merrick

On June 9, 1947, in Haleyville, AL she was born to the late Willie Hopson and Leora Dykes McGee.

In 1958 in Sikeston, MO. she married Ray Elbert Merrick Sr. who preceded her in death on January 30, 2022.

She worked in housekeeping for about 30 years at Missouri Delta Center in Sikeston, MO.

She is survived by one son, Ray Jr. (Andrea) Merrick of Cape Girardeau, MO; three grandchildren, Jacob (Samantha) Merrick of Sikeston, MO, Timothy Merrick of Sikeston, MO and Rachel (Kenneth) Durbin of Sikeston, MO; six great grandchildren, Addison Merrick of Sikeston, MO, Parker Elizabeth of Sikeston, MO, Brantley Merrick of Sikeston, MO, Emma Durbin of Sikeston, MO; Kolton Durbin of Sikeston, MO and Ivy Durbin of Sikeston, MO.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO.

Visitation at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Curtis True, Pastor of Church On The Rock in Morehouse, MO, officiating.
