Charline Freeman Chambers, 73, of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 20, 2025, at home beside her beloved husband of 53 years, Timothy Bryce Chambers.
Charline was born on June 25, 1952, in Sikeston to the late Charles Lee Franklin Freeman and Clara Pearl (Wrinkle) Freeman. She graduated from Sikeston Senior High School in 1970 and, shortly after, married her high school sweetheart, Tim, on January 11, 1972, in their hometown. Their marriage stood as a beautiful testament to enduring love, shared purpose, and unwavering companionship.
Charline worked for many years in local banking at Bank of Sikeston and First State Bank and Trust Company. Later, she and Tim found joy in the world of antiques, running Missouri Plain Folk together for decades. Their shared passion allowed them to travel extensively, forming treasured memories across the country.
A faithful member of Shady Acres Church of Christ, Charline was guided by her gentle spirit and deep kindness. She was instantly loved by all who met her and carried a warmth that could light up any room. She had a lifelong love of cooking and found deep joy in preparing meals for those she loved.
Charline was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Danny Freeman.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Tim Chambers (72), and their two sons, Zachary Tyler Chambers (49) and wife, Katy of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Tyson Freeman Chambers (46) of St. Louis, Missouri; her cherished grandchildren: Jinx Benjamin Chambers (14), Price Zachary Chambers (13), and Bobby Freeman Chambers (9); her loving sister, Linda Jo (Freeman) Norton; and a wide extended family who adored her, including her brother- and sister-in-law, John Wiley Hartzog II and Linda Collette (Chambers) Hartzog, and her sister- and brother-in-law, Carolyn Chambers and Robin Jerome Chambers.
She is also survived by her nephews: John Wiley Hartzog III (Krisie), Benjamin Park Hartzog (Crystal), Robin Jerome Chambers, Jr., and David Andrew Norton; and nieces: Carrie (Freeman) Young, Leslie Louise Freeman, Alexandria Jo (Norton) Stowe (Steve), Ashley Lynn (Chambers) Steward (JJ), and Erin Gray (Chambers) Alcorn (Benjamin).
Visitation will be held at Shady Acres Church of Christ on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a memorial service and celebration of Charline’s life to follow at 12:00 p.m. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and share in remembering the remarkable woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Charline’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
Charline’s legacy of love, kindness, and grace will live on in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing her.
