
David Edward Jordan, 72, of Morehouse, died December 20, 2014, at his home. Born March 27, 1942, in Sikeston, to the late Loy and Mable Irvin Jordan, he was employed as a welder for Steward Steel Door & Frame Co., retiring after 17 years. He was of Baptist belief. On May 25, 1991, in Dyersburg, Tenn., he married Lenda Jerls , who preceded him in death on June 11, 2007.
Survivors include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, David Jordan of Morehouse, Keith and Carolyn Jordan of Desoto, Kevin and Lora Jordan of Morehouse and Bodie and Jamie Jordan of Sikeston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Beth Adams of Morehouse, Rejena and Marty Presley of Sikeston and Tera and Kevin Barks of Dexter; three brothers, Bob Jordan of Del City, Okla., Bill Jordan of Bachelor, La., and Mike Jordan of Morehouse; and two sisters, Glenda Evans of Dogwood and Deloma Penrose of Benton. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, one granddaughter, Terrin Adams, and one brother, Dawsey Jordan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Scott Sutton, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Kevin Jordan, Bodie Jordan, David Jordan, Jeremy Cooper, Kevin Jordan II and Lane Buerk. Honorary pallbearers will be Brianna Adams and Gaige Adams.
