He was born in Jackson, Mississippi. He was the third son of Betty Hay Murray and Marvin “Bud” Louis Murray.
David was a fiercely loving husband, father, and son, and he was an undisputedly good man. He was strong in his faith, committed to his farming, and endless in his room-brightening laughs.
His passion for life never ceased. David was a man of varied interests, from spending time with his childhood best friends at their hunting club, to Broadway musicals, to cooking and baking. He loved music, and his singing voice was a gift to all who heard it. He was proud of his Mississippi roots. More than anything else though, David loved his family and friends, and his love was felt by all who had the honor of meeting him.
David was preceded in death by his father, Marvin “Bud” Murray. He is survived by his wife, Jeanna Murray; his mother, Betty Murray; his son, Ben Murray; and his daughter, Caroline Murray. He also leaves behind two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Laurie Murray and Greg and Carol Murray. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends he loved as family.
