

David Grant Rice, 79, of Sikeston, died April 21, 2015, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. Born July 13, 1935, in Sturgis, Mich., to the late James Russell and Margarite Lockwood Rice, he was a truck driver for Sturgis Iron & Metal and had also worked for the Morehouse Housing Authority. He served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. On September 5, 1987, in New Buffalo, Mich., he married Rose Pratt, who preceded him in death on May 9, 2002.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Berta Rice of College Station, Tex.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jennifer Rice of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Barbara and Dan Coffman of New Buffalo, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Samuel Agrillo, Brandi Hamann and Cody Hamann.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Rice.
Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at noon on Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Pastor Douglas Breite of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau will officiate.
Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard Unit.
