He served on the Alton, IL police department for 16 years as an officer and served for four years as the Chief of Police for Alton, IL. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
He was born July 30, 1949 in Eldorado, IL.
Survivors include: one brother, Ron Downey of Godfrey, IL.; and one sister, Susan Downey of IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday July 30, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Roper's Regal Beagle in Godfrey, IL. ( 3043 Godfrey Rd Godfrey, IL.).
