Dennis Ray Wethington

Dennis was born in Sikeston, Missouri on September 7, 1955, to the late Urban Dewey Wethington, Jr. and late Bernice Carter. He later made his home in Elizabeth City, where he built his life filled with love, family and lasting friendships.

Dennis was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, and a proud father to his son, Daryl Wethington. He will be remembered as a kind heart, steady presence, and the love he freely gave to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Billy Black and his sister, Karen Wethington.

Dennis is survived by his wife Linda; his son, Daryl (Kelisha) Wethington; his sister, Shirley Pease; his sister, Kim Alley; his nephew Jimmy Lee (Kim) Cantrell; his nephew, Blake (LaGena) Wethington; his niece, Hailey (Clay) Driskill. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will cherish his memory.

Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 11:00am-1:00pm.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.

Pallbearers include Daryl Wethington, Blake Wethington, Jimmy Lee Cantrell, Clay Driskill, Paul Johnson, and Ron Blackburn.

Dennis’s legacy as a gentle soul will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
