Earl "Buddy" Newton

He was born on September 24, 1939, in Sikeston, MO to the late Heartsill and Louise Sindle Newton.

On June 20, 1961, he married Shirley Alsup Newton who passed away on May 9, 2017.

He retired from Bunny Bread Bakery in Sikeston, MO in 2001, after forty-six years of service.

He is survived by one son, Gaylon Newton of Benton, MO; two daughters, Sheri (Doug) Johnson of Cape Girardeau, MO and Cindy (Bobby) Sullivan of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Danny Newton of Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Bea Chappell and Debbie DeRoush both of Sikeston, MO; seven grandchildren, Tisha (Matt) Brice, Chris (Courtney) Newton, Bobby (Rachel) Newton, Bree (Austin) Comstock, David Johnson, Aubrey Sullivan and Trace Sullivan; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Newton; one brother, Benny Newton and two sisters, Peggy Umfress and Patricia Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with Doug Johnson, Associate Pastor of Emerald Street Church of God in Cape Girardeau, MO, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.

Pallbearers will be Chris Newton, Bobby Newton, Trace Sullivan, Danny Newton, Eric Chappell and Kent Chappell.
