Edward Murial Emerson, 1st of Gulfport, Mississippi was born August 14, 1944 in Benton, MO. to John Mac Emerson and Ossie Mae (Pratt) Emerson. He died at Oschner Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana on November 2, 2017 at the age of 73.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John Mac Emerson & Ossie Mae (Pratt) Emerson. Shirley Maxine (Emerson) Stidham, Bessie Emerson, Jessie Emerson, Geneive Melba (Emerson) Hicks, Roxie Mary Emerson, Elma Mae Emerson, John Michael Emerson, Patrick Maloy Emerson, Randy Ray Simpson, Mckenzie Emerson & Scarlett Emerson.

Edward Murial Emerson, 1st is survived by: Marilyn Sue (Greenough) Emerson, his wife of 41 years. Jerry Mac Emerson, Joyce Mason Emerson, Elaine Madonna (Emerson) Huey, Edward Murial Emerson, II; Joy Christine Emerson, Daniel Lynn Emerson, Jason Maloy Emerson, Terri Lynn (Emerson) Wilson, Chadwick Jay Emerson, Vickie Lynn (Hoffman) Smith, Ricky Lee Simpson, Grover Daniel Simpson.

13 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren & 1 Great-great grandchild as well as plethora of cousins, nieces, nephews & extended family who will miss him greatly.

Interment: Thur, Nov 9, 2017 at 12 PM at MO State Veteran Cemetery: 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825.

Please no flowers, stuffed animals will be collected and donated to the children’s hospital.
