Evelyn was a very special lady that touched my life in so many ways. In my late teens she and Joe opened their home to me and gave me love and direction like I was one of their own. I really was blessed with a second mom and dad. I soon learned that Evelyn was a selfless lady that would put the needs of others first. She was good to me in so many ways. She surprised me with new tops that she had sewn for me while I was at work. She introduced me to the church choir. Yes, she convinced me that I could sing and I have so many fond memories of serving the Lord especially the Christmas cantatas. She took me to get my first drivers license, and later I totaled her favorite car. I was so afraid to call her and her first words to me were “Are you and David okay?” She never let on to me how sick she must have been over losing her cream puff. She helped me with planning my wedding, altered Susie's wedding dress so I could squeeze in it, sewed the bridesmaid dresses, and put on the best wedding reception for me in her home. Through the years she has always been there for me and my family. Not too long ago she took my niece back and forth to vacation bible school. Evelyn loved children and Lexi bonded with her right away. I am forever grateful for the love and caring she showed me and my family. To Susie, David, and Mike you three will always be special in my heart and may you take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you. God Bless, Love Diane

Evelyn was such a beautiful lady, inside and out. When my dad passed away in 2007 she lovingly made 3 darling bears for my sister, step mother and I. I enjoyed chatting with her at the pool where she (and my mom) lived, as well as at Christy and Brians's baseball games (our son was on their team). We will miss her dearly, but know she's at peace with God in Heaven. Love and prayers to David, Doreen as well as her entire family.

Dearest Evelyn, how honored I am that I got to call you"Grandma" and what a privilege it has been to be a part of your life. Cedric and I were never 'strangers" to you and Uncle Joe for you made us feel so loved.I will always cherish our "talks".Thank you for always knowing when I needed you even when I did not know. You will be missed but I will carry in my heart always, all that you taught me. Heaven's doors were wide open for you as Uncle Joe and the angels said welcome to one special angel. Job on earth, well done. Lovingly,

I spent many days and nights at the Barrowman home while I was in junior and senior high school. Mike and I would "test" Evelyn and Joe on a regular basis. Evelyn was always kind and I am glad I was able to stop by and visit with her from time to time. My prayers are with Mike and the family.
