
Evelyn Frances Pinnell, 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, died September 14, 2013, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born May 4, 1921, in Livingston County, Ky., to the late James Allen and Lura Marie Walton Blankenship, she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, where she had been an active member in the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Sodality. On December 14, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark., she married William B. Pinnell, who preceded her in death on January 27, 1999.
Survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, William A. Pinnell of Wappapello and Robert B. and Lana J. Pinnell of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Robert Gardner of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, James Blankenship, Jay Blankenship, Ed Blankenship and Bob Blankenship; two sisters, Mary Nelson and Jo Ann Wilson; one grandson, Timothy Pinnell; and one daughter-in-law, Janice Pinnell.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Nwokoye of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
