

Gale Gregory Wessling Sr., 77, of Sikeston, died January 22, 2013, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born October 17, 1935, in St. Louis, to the late Henry J. and Lillie Craft Wessling, he was an entrepreneur and local businessman, and had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Sikeston Elks Lodge 2319, Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319, Knights of Columbus and the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Sikeston.
On July 20, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nev., he was married to Ginger Hux, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Gale “Greg” and Ann Wessling Jr. of Ballwin, Landon and Michelle Wessling of Chanute, Kans. and Lance Wessling of Sikeston; one sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Edward McCormick of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and a very special friend, Connie Johnson.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-8pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7pm.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, January 25, at 10am at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating.
Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gale “Greg” Wessling, Jr, Landon Wessling, Lance Wessling, Neil Wessling, Trey Lind and Hunter Wessling.
