

Gerald Wayne Pobst, age 73, of Sikeston, died August 14, 2015, at his home in Sikeston. Born February 14, 1942, in Vanduser, to the late Elmer and Gertrude Engelen Pobst, he was a self-employed farmer and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston. On February 6, 1986, in Sikeston, he married Eletra Brewer, who survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son, Steven Pobst of Sikeston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Tim McIntyre of Bell City and Laura and Blain Gilliam of Fort Smith, Ark.; one stepson, Tom Pruett of Overland Park, Kans.; one stepdaughter and her husband, Patricia and Sonny Kincade of Sikeston; and one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Carolyn Pobst of Sikeston. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Pobst and James Pobst.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, August 17, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, with Rev. Patrick Nwokoye, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be Grant Schweer, Lundi McIntyre, Andy McIntyre, Blake Pobst, Kirby Gilliam and Eric Pobst.
